How long is the course?  

35 hours, usually 09:00 – 16:00 over 5 days. This can be split over several weeks.


What level is this course? 

Level 3


Who is this training for? 

Those who have a specific responsibility to provide prehospital care to patients requiring emergency treatment. Ideal for those looking to progress in an ambulance service, or those in military, police or fire service roles.


Are there any specific entry requirements?

You must be over 17 years old. First aid knowledge is not a requirement to attend this course.


Are there any assessments on this course?

Yes, 3 Multiple Choice Questionnaires, 1 invigilated exam and 6 practical assessments. 


How old do I have to be to go on the course?

17 years+


Will I be provided with any resources? 

Yes, all learners receive a First Aid at Work book. You will also receive a recommended reading list. One of these books will be available to loan for the duration of the course teaching. 


I am not physically able to get on and off the floor (or have another physical disability), can I still attend?

How long is this course valid? 

This course is valid for 3 years. If you requalify within 3 years, you may attend a 3-day requalification course.

With recommendations for yearly refreshers.


If I fail an assessment, can I do it again?

Yes, you have 20 weeks within which to pass all of the assessments.

 

Do I need to bring anything with me on the day? 

Please bring an ID card (for a full list of acceptable ID, please contact us) and comfortable clothing. You may wish to bring a pen and paper. Food is not provided but drinks will be made available.


I require a large group of employees to be trained, can you accommodate this? 

Yes, we must have a ratio of 1 trainer to 6 learners but are able to deliver to any size group if we have the capacity.


Where are courses held? 

Courses are usually held at your venue, though in discussion with us we can source venues. Please contact us to discuss.
