Intermediate Life Support

Our aim is to train healthcare personnel in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, simple airway management and safe defibrillation, enabling them to manage patients in cardiac arrest until the arrival of an emergency response.



This course has been designed in accordance with Resuscitation Council UK guidelines and meets the requirements of NHS and private healthcare providers. Our experienced tutors can create healthcare area-specific scenarios which will reinforce learning and bring courses to life.

I have never done a first aid course before; will this be suitable for me? 

This course is designed for people who work in a healthcare environment, who may be required to attend or manage a cardiac arrest. They need access to oxygen and airway adjuncts.


How long is this course valid? 

We recommend doing this course on an annual basis. 


How long is the course? 

7 hours, usually 09:00 – 16:00. With recommendations for yearly refreshers.


Are there any assessments on this course?

Assessment on this course is continuous – the trainer will ensure that you are able to demonstrate all of the skills taught. 


How old do I have to be to go on the course?

18 years+

Do I need to bring anything with me on the day? 

It is a good idea to wear comfortable clothing. We will provide all kit required. Refreshments are not routinely provided by TrainEEAST when delivering in your own premises. You may wish to bring a pen and paper.
